Heated Discussions

I decided a long time ago that I was in it for the long haul. Growing up without a father in the house, I believe, plays a huge part in my decision to Keep pressing. But that's not the only reason. I truly love my husband.

Marriage is a covenant. An investment that will go up in value if the proper care is applied. Love will increase, you should become best friends and over time you should acquire assets. A flower will never bloom if it's never watered. It's a combination of heat (sun) and water that makes it beautiful. It needs the heat just as much as it needs the water.

Marriage is very similar. Without the proper attention, care and love it will never grow. This is not to say the heat won't be turned up in your marriage. You will have heated discussions (fellowships) for sure. I always find the words "heated discussion" (fellowships) funny because the ones I remember sound nothing like discussions.

More like a "yelling match" (can I be real?)

Over the years my husband and I have decided to pick our battles very careful with one another. We will not always agree on everything (that's a fact) But we will agree to disagree. It makes no sense trying to "win" an argument (discussion). It's exhausting. At the end of the day no one really wins. Energy is wasted when you could have spent it building each other up or loving on one another.

We have enough to deal with each day with work, church, family and kids. When we come home we want peace. We want to know that it's a place of sweet rest, not a den of wolves. Don't waste time being angry and not speaking to one another. Swallow your pride, apologize and love one another.

Life is too short! We don’t know what tomorrow will bring.
